Google will now label mobile-friendly websites directly in Search results
A new feature in Google Search adds “mobile-friendly” to the description of results that are optimized for your phone. Google automatically determines if websites are mobile friendly using its Webmaster tool which is available to anyone.Google has been testing using icons and text to indicate which sites are mobile friendly for a few months now, but today marks the company adding it into Search for everyone.
The company is encouraging users to contact website owners to let them know about their poor mobile experience and now offers a guide on how to get startedbuilding a mobile site. Google warned earlier this year that websites without mobile sites will also be ranked lower in search.
