Lizard Squad strikes again, hacks Google Vietnam briefly
Google Vietnam was knocked offline by Lizard Squad earlier today after they managed to poison the DNS to google.com.vn. Although the site is now back up, many angry Vietnamese voiced their displeasure at the hack.
Lizard Squad announced the hack on one of their Twitter accounts, simply asking if people thought Google Vietnam looked any different. The NSFW replies to the announcement can be viewed here, the last being around three hours ago which is an indication of when service was restored.
Aside from the screen grab at the top of this page, you can also check out the Wayback Machine grabfrom earlier today. As with previous hacks or DDoS attacks, the group has not given any reason for this target. You may remember that the same group also had some success at DDoS’ing the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live around Christmas period last year, much to the displeasure of gamers.
This is probably not the last time we’ll hear of this group, and as to why they are doing what they are doing, your guess is as good as ours.
Update : Google Vietnam is back to work
