Microsoft’s Office Online now lets users work with Dropbox documents
Today that partnership goes one step further, as Microsoft has announced that the Dropbox and Office integration that was introduced last year is now extending to non-business users. When using Office Online, you can now open and edit Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents stored on your Dropbox account directly from your browser, without leaving the web apps.
You can also start editing documents directly from Dropbox. When previewing a Word, PowerPoint or Excel file from Dropbox on the web, you can start editing right away with the click of the ‘Open’ button, as shown in the image above. Once you’re done, you can save your work back to Dropbox.
These changes are likely welcomed by many considering that Dropbox had over 300 million registered users and over 35 billion Office documents are stored in its cloud.
